King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) was established in 1960 as a research and teaching university to serve the country’s educational and industrial needs. Our primary objective is to produce top caliber professionals equipped with necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to succeed in their chosen profession and to contribute to the development of the nation as a whole.
In 1976, the decade of high industrial growth, the Faculty of Science (FSci) of KMUTT was created to meet the demands of the time - to produce graduates with solid foundation in pure science and ample experience in applied science or engineering to create a high caliber of professional work.
At present, the Faculty consists of four departments, Office of the Dean and a Scientific Instruments Center for Standard and Industry offering 22 programs. There are seven Bachelor’s Degree programs including Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Computer Science, Chemistry, Applied Physics, Microbiology, and Food Science and Technology; nine Master’s Degree programs such as Applied Mathematics, Didactic Mathematics, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemistry for Teachers, Physics, Physics Education, Applied Microbiology and Nanoscience and Nanotechnology ; and, five Doctoral Degree programs in Applied Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biosciences and Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
